THURSDAY, APRIL 25

Hike with the CleanAlp project to the Harpoon Pass

Scenic, bright and not at all complicated hike to the pass that joins Gesso and Stura valleys, among old marble quarries, beech forest and sinkholes.

The hike takes place as part of the CleanAlp project, designed and implemented by European Research Institute with the collaboration of the Maritime Alps Park. The project is the first in the world to document and study plastic pollution in the mountains, on trails and wilderness areas, and to document its impact.
During the hike, therefore, participants also have the opportunity to directly collaborate in scientific research by collecting waste that will be found on the trail (duly provided with gloves).

Height difference: +650m/-650m approx.

Duration: about 4h of actual walking (round trip)

Development: about 10 km A/R

Difficulty: T/E, suitable for moderately trained hikers

Meet: San Bernardo parking lot in Desertetto, 9:30 a.m.

Return: estimated 3:30 p.m.

Cost: the hike is free because the cost of the guides is covered by the CleanAlp project

Materials needed: hiking boots, suitable socks, windbreaker, fleece, microfleece, light sweater, sun cap, water bottle, some energy snacks such as dried fruit or chocolate, packed lunch
It is always advisable to have a light change of clothes with you in case of rain (even one to leave in the car).

FRIDAY, APRIL 26

With CleanAlp at the Barbero Hut

A fairly short hike with a wide variety of environments traversed-forest, streams, pasture-that will take us to the bivouac inaugurated in 1965 and named after a young mountaineer from Cuneo. The spring time and exposure will allow us to observe the explosion of life in the alpine environment.

The hike is held as part of the CleanAlp project.

Height difference: +580m/-580m approx.

Duration: 4h of actual walking (round trip)

Development: about 9 km A/R

Difficulty: E, for moderately trained hikers

Meet: Vagliotta Bridge parking lot, 9:30 a.m.

Return: estimated 3:30 p.m.

Cost: the hike is free because the cost of the guides is covered by the CleanAlp project

'Earth Week' special event The North Face with CleanAlp

Hike for The North Face's 'Earth Week 2024' special event, again with the CleanAlp project. The special event will take place in Entracque, along the Gorge della Reina loop, with good sun exposure, through varied and fascinating environments.

Reservation required on Eventbrite.

Cost per person: free of charge.
Notes: packed lunch to be paid for by participants.

Meeting: 9 a.m. Cuneo, at The North Face store, Corso Nizza 31, 9 a.m. Alternatively: Entracque, at St. Anthony's Church, 10 a.m.
End of activity: in Entracque, estimated 3:30/16:00 pm.
Elevation gain: +500m/-500m approx.
Duration: about 3h00′ actual walking time.
Degree of difficulty: easy.

SUNDAY, APRIL 28

With CleanAlp at Lake Valscura

Long is splendid hike, never really complicated, taking us through and admiring some of the most representative places of the Maritime Alps Park: from the thermal baths to the Piano del Valasco to the lower lake of Valscura, among forests, grasslands, stony ground and tracks of high-altitude military roads still extraordinarily preserved.
